First Journey From Here
Where I Have Been
I am one of those who has been living a life of quiet desperation (Thoreau?). From my mid-twenties on till now, I’ve felt that there should be more for me in life than just what I have had. To find a cure for that nagging itch, when the mood hit me, I would bounce from one self-help book or program to another, usually giving up without giving 100% or not putting in the work long enough to see (my) expected results. My first journey from here will be to cure that itch once and for all.
Looking back now at the time when I was exploring these methods, and trying to put into practice the methods they prescribed, I’ve been asking hard questions. Questions like: Is our success or failure predetermined? I want to find out why the people who say “yes” to this do so, and how they justify it. Some of the philosophies are darn right spooky. Where do they come from? Are the things I was taught to believe really all that different from what these “far-fetched” ideas profess?
When I was in my mid-to-late thirties, I came across Napoleon Hill and his book “Think and Grow Rich.” Back then it was just another of those books I started and never got around to finishing. It’s much more than that to me now. Here is part of his philosophy in a 7 minute video.
How is that for a bunch of stuff to think about? (And, really, if you think you’ve got a great attitude, a PostiveMentalAttitude, grab the 7 Day Mental Diet below (Free Ebook! offer) and take it….should be easy, right?)
Where I’m Going Now – The Master Key Experience
What I want firstly is to try to be open-minded. However, what I don’t want is to compromise my theology. Using discernment will be essential.
The Master Key Experience says it will help me:
Radiate strength and self-confidence
Finally discover your true purpose in life
Find the power to trust in yourself and your dream
Learn why written goals don’t work and what you can do about it
Engage the power of your subconscious mind to reach your goals easily
Receive hands-on help from certified guides to your put your plan into action.
How I Will Get There
This looks like a worthwhile destination. I know the developers of the course. I’ve studied under them before. I like them, know them, and trust them. The course begins 23 Sept. 2018 and runs for 6 months. It is a college level course, and one of the requirements of the course is to make a blog post every week chronicling our journey. That will be happening right here Along a Hero’s Journey.
Hello Mark,
Your blog is very nice.
Some of the things you shared resonate with me.
I have experienced similar feelings when it comes to books and personal development courses, that I have “shuffled” through, searching for some “magic wand” that could change my life. Good thing we found the MKE, and started the journey of self discovery.
Peace and Success!
Glad you could relate Manuel.
